Voting in Cengkareng RSUD Quiet from Voters

As many as 907 names in the final voters list (DPT) have been registered in two polling stations (TPS) which located in Cengkareng General Hospital (RSUD), West Jakarta. In these TPSs, as many as one-third votes or more than 300 voters are targeted to cast their votes in the 2014 legislative election. But unfortunately, the TPSs are quiet from voters.

We’re targeting one-third votes here, because not all employees and medical officers cast their votes in Cengkareng RSUD. Those who are off work are voting in TPS near their homes

The TPSs in Cengkareng RSUD are TPS 135 and TPS 136, which both located on the 1st floor of the hospital. The voting was quiet from voters, where it can be seen from the empty chairs provided by the voting committee (KPPS). Until 11 AM, there were only 280 people cast their votes, while 627 other voters were nowhere to be seen.

Head of KPPS for TPS 135, Agung, said the two TPSs were set up for to accommodate over 900 employees and medical officers working in Cengkareng RSUD in casting their votes while on duty.

Besides accommodating employees and medical officers in casting their votes, Agung told that her party is also accommodating two patients to conduct voting. Those patients are Siti Haeriah (26), who is treated in Pepaya Room after giving birth, and Sopiah (46), a dialysis patient. Especially for these patients, KPPS visited them and brought all voting equipments to their beds.

“We accommodate two patients. They already have A5 form, thus they are allowed to vote,” he finished.
